Journalists' efforts culminated in the establishment of the Journalists Association in January 2000. It was officially registered under Ministerial Decision No. (588) on September 30, 2000.
The association advances journalism, defends journalists' interests and rights, represents journalists before state institutions, and promotes press freedom consistent with the UAE's social foundations.
The association's governing bylaws are provided as an attached file.
Issued in 2007 and approved by the General Assembly in 2008 as a professional ethics document.
The Journalists Association was legally registered by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
The elected board includes nine members.
